I'm employed at NCSoft in beautiful Austin, TX. Check out Dungeon Runners!

I do all kinds of stuff over there, but maybe I can post more information in the future once things crystalize a bit. Mostly I work on MAXScripted tool development, painting, and HLSL shader development. Anyways, on to the generic summary:

I'm a 22 year-old technical artist with a background in traditional oil painting. How grinding paints, mixing oil-egg emulsions and priming with rabbit-skin glue lead me to computer graphics, I have no idea. My forté is scripting custom tools for artists, which I have done for over 3 years. Over the past 3 years I have been working on 3ds Max pipelines, scripted tools for artists, character/creature rigging, fully scripted animations, scripted PFlow systems, and of course, painting.

Programming

  1. MAXScript
  2. Python (PIL, Wx, Win32)
  3. HLSL
  4. C# and .NET
  5. ANSI C

Apps

  1. 3ds Max
  2. 3ds Max Plugins: Character Studio, ClothFX, Hair and Fur, FumeFX, AfterBurn, PFlow
  3. ZBrush
  4. Modo
  5. AfterEffects
  6. Adobe Suite

Experience

I entered the animation industry doing medical/anatomical animation for a small company in Houston. After a year, I got picked up by Archimage/Illusion Studio as a Technical Artist. There, I worked on cut-scenes for two games. My tasks included:

  1. Scripting tools for artists from artist feedback (everyday)
  2. Rigging characters and adding automated animation with wave functions (tails, wings, etc.)
  3. Scrutinizing the pipeline and implementing optimizations
  4. Animating vast technical animations through MAXScript
  5. All effects and particle work, utilizing AfterBurn, FumeFX, Pflow, and MXS
  6. Prop creation, compositing, etc, when not scripting

After that I moved to Austin and got with NCSoft to work on Dungeon Runners. For some examples of my work, please visit my Gallery page.

Education
